There are many different things that try to influence the way we act, the way we think, and the way we view ourselves. One of the most common ways is through the use of media. We are constantly bombarded with images of what others think our bodies, our thoughts, our personalities, and our experiences should be like. Remember that these are views that are generally unrealistic. What is important is that you realize you need to be comfortable and confident with your body, thoughts, and actions.
If you or anyone you know has experience with these or other difficult situations, it’s important to know that you’re not alone. Talking to a parent, teacher, counselor, family member, or other trusted adult can help you to resolve the situation before things become too difficult to control.
