Safety Playbook for Individual Development
and Engagement of Responsible Students
Introduction and Objective > Steps to Decision-Making > The Sixth Step > Evaluating Your Decisions > Setting Goals to Help You Make Decisions
Keeping your goals in mind can help you to make good decisions. If you know that you want to go to college, then you will be more inclined to make decisions with that goal in mind. You don’t want to do anything that could ruin your chances of getting into the school that you want.
As you go through the steps to decision-making, keep your life goals in mind. They will help you to see the “big picture” as you list your options and weigh the consequences of each. If the consequences aren’t going to help you to meet your goals, then those options aren’t going to be the best ones for you. Keep your eye on the prize by always focusing on positive ways to meet your life goals.
