Good Character

What is Character?

Character is a major part of our personality. Our behavior, how we think, and how we feel are all based upon our character. Although there are many qualities that make up a person’s character, they are generally broken into six main categories:

  1. Accountability
  2. Compassion
  3. Fairness
  4. Generosity
  5. Respect
  6. Trust

Each of these categories contains traits that make a person’s character unique. Remember, though, that we all have positive character traits, such as self-control, thoughtfulness, and loyalty, and negative character traits, such as anger, resentment, and frustration. Together they help guide us in how we think, act, speak and make decisions. Decision-making is a critical part of your unique character.
