Introduction and Objective > Attitude and Self-Esteem > Media Influence > What's Being Advertised? > Stereotypes and Gender Stereotypes > Summary
There are countless things in our lives that are constantly trying to influence the way we think, act, and behave. We need to make ourselves more aware of these influences in order to make sure we are keeping our minds open. We would not want others to judge us based upon our height, gender, religion, or anything, really, so why would we ever think it’s okay to do it to others?
Take a moment to think about your own attitude. How do you perceive relationships? What experience do you have with stereotypes? How can you work to change your attitude to be more accepting, if necessary?
If you or anyone you know has experience with these or other difficult situations, it’s important to know that you’re not alone. Talking to a parent, teacher, counselor, family member, or other trusted adult can help you to resolve the situation before things become too difficult to control.
Before you go to the next page, make sure that you’re ready for your assessment.
