Decision-Making: Part 1

Asking for Help from Trusted Adults

Sometimes, situations are beyond your control and require the help of someone else. In these cases, you need to reach out to a trusted adult, such as a teacher or family member, and that individual will work to correct the situation. Depending on the scenario, legal action may need to be taken to correct the problem. Although this may sound scary, it’s always best to reach out to a trusted adult as soon as possible. Ignoring a dangerous situation, such as a friend being abused, may make things worse. Usually, things do not simply improve on their own; instead, they require some sort of outside intervention. Being brave and making the decision to reach out and get help is always the right decision, and in doing so you protect yourself and your friends.
